Modern Country Farmhouse
The Inspiration...
The owners of this stunning old Farmhouse in Oxfordshire, had been renovating their home over the past few years, and the kitchen was the final piece of the puzzle! They wanted to create a warm and welcoming space for all the family. They have two young boys and wanted to create a space they could all enjoy, whether that be early morning breakfasts at the island, or snuggled on the sofa at the end of the day. Being an old farmhouse, the brief was of course to work alongside the era of the house and design a modern farmhouse kitchen. We achieved this by building a false chimney surround which housed an Everhot cooker in traditional Cream, a bi-fold pantry unit (that the customer actually wanted to use as a drinks unit, and was very proud of it!), a Belfast sink under the window and a large island with an English Oak worktop which added a great warmth to the room. And finally, as with many traditional country kitchens we created a cosy area incorporating a sofa with bookshelving and storage above and adjacent to. Perfect to grab a book and snuggle up!
